SLAVERY-FREE CANNABIS

Building the first sector free from all forms of modern slavery by embedding labour protection policy within cannabis legalization.

CEG SOCIAL GOOD

The global trend of cannabis legalization is at a critical point in time. By learning from past mistakes of global supply chains across fast food, fast fashion and fast pharmaceuticals, the cannabis industry has an opportunity to embed true Social Impact into the foundation of the world’s fastest growing industry.

Our mission is to ensure the cannabis industry is built on new social impact standards.

Our vision is to see the cannabis sector operate as the first transparent, and slavery-free supply chain.

WHY CANNABIS?
WHY NOW?

Versatile and controversial: cannabis is at a critical point in time. While cannabis is steadily gaining social acceptance and proving its many commercial applications, legalization around the world is accelerating at a rapid pace.

As this happens, complex global supply chains will emerge and demand policies that help protect against human trafficking and labour exploitation. There is an opportunity right now to embed these policies into the business of cannabis, as it is legalized. We must act now before it is too late.

CEG INITIATIVES

Our team of dedicated educators and social impact advisors are guiding the conversation around ethical and sustainable business, while stating loud and clear that practices of modern slavery have no place in the new legal cannabis sector.

20% of all net profits go to The CEG’s social impact initiatives, which work to ensure a slavery-free and conscious cannabis industry.

WHAT YOUR CONTRIBUTION SUPPORTS

WHAT YOUR CONTRIBUTION SUPPORTS

When investing in education with the CEG, you are investing in social impact initiatives that are helping to bring awareness and solutions to ensure a global cannabis and hemp industry free of forced labour.

1. PREVENTION: Cannabis industry education

To create long-term prevention of human trafficking, CEG works with existing organizations around the world, already educating migrant communities (often the most at risk population) on the signs of abusive instances, trafficking brokers and their labour/human rights. CEG is providing education resources to help understand the legal, ethical and operational areas of cannabis and hemp supply chains.

→ Since February 2020, CEG has been working with the Labour Protection Network (LPN) and has developed cannabis education resources to be used on missions in the border towns and migrant communities of Thailand.

→ Since July 2020, CEG has implemented a lead for Community Education in Asia, to join education missions

Learn more about the LPNhttps://www.lpnfoundation.org/
Watch “Ghost Fleet” the documentary featuring the LPN and learn about their migrant rescue missions, and how they have rescued over 14 thousand human trafficking victims.

2. EMPOWERING VICTIMS: Rescue Support

Funding is donated to mission-driven organizations who that currently rescue victims of human trafficking. Rescue missions and rehabilitation services are in need of funding to ensure those rescued can live safe lives.

→ July 2020, CEG donated funds for PPE to migrant communities in support of the LPN’s COVID-relief work.

→ September 2020, CEG donated funds to help support victims rescued by the LPN.

3. INDUSTRY STANDARDS: Creating a new supply chain standard

The cannabis sector has an opportunity to become the first slavery-free sector. By working with legal government, social impact leaders, organizations and policy makers we can prevent labour exploitation from entering the legal cannabis industry global supply chain.

Conscious consumerism, and the implementation of new standards of operations needs to collide now. The cannabis industry needs to be the industry that creates these new standards of operations, including a global slavery-free cannabis trade.
